BUSINESS OFFICE
The Business Office maintains the highest level of operational and financial
support for the Information Technology Bureau through the implementation and
continued use of efficient processes and strict standards. This office is
responsible for the continual monitoring of costs and the identification of
cost-saving opportunities in addition to ensuring strict Bureau compliance
with State and agency rules and regulations. This office is built on a
work environment that promotes open communication and encourages collaboration
with other agency departments.

APPLICATIONS & DATA MANAGEMENT SERVICES

Applications and Data Management Services support Agency system
automation the development and maintenance of computer software
systems. Applications and Data Management Services is comprised
of four functional units: Mainframe Applications, PC Applications, SQL Database
and Web Support Services.

Mainframe Application programmers and analysts develop and support
the Department’s core business software and data that resides on the
ADOA mainframe. The Unit supports and maintains the Department’s
management of inmate classification, inmate movement, inmate visitation,
inmate trust accounting, staff human resources, staff payroll and
finance, software systems.

PC Application programmers and analysts endeavor to support the
Agency’s Administration and staff through development and maintenance
of web based business solutions that automate CORE business processes
in support of the Agency’s strategic goals.

SQL Database Support focuses on the following functional areas
of expertise: design, development, operation, security, maintenance,
and use of databases supporting the agency; defines the rules by
which the data is accessed and stored; does not manage or administer
the Network, or PC Applications, however, coordinates closely
with these areas relative to network operations and applications
development.

Web Support provides e-Business solutions via Web Enabled Architecture
that supports the dissemination of information efficiently and cost
effectively. Web Support is responsible for Web Design, Development,
Maintenance and Developer Training; Overall Website Management, Technical
Supervision of internal websites at the agency’s remote locations and
technical support for Internet development.
