FALCONER
Douglas Falconer, a correctional officer at the Globe Unit of Arizona State Prison Complex-Phoenix, was overseeing an inmate wildland fire crew dispatched to the Sacramento Fire near Lake Havasu City on Oct. 1, 2008. Shortly after the crew began its efforts to contain the fire, Falconer collapsed and died from natural causes.

Officer Falconer, who is survived by his wife Jeannie, first joined the Arizona Department of Corrections in 2004 and was assigned to the Globe Unit. He was a proud member of the wildland fire team for more than a year.
