(April 2, 2004) - Louise Ann Madrid (DOB: 03/08/70) was arrested last night for allegedly plotting the murder of the man she considers to be her common law husband.

According to Arizona Department of Corrections personnel at the ASPC-Safford/Fort Grant facility, a letter authored by Louise Madrid of Peoria, Arizona was intercepted on March 25^th, 2004. The letter was written to Kirk Allen Hedges (DOB 10/04/59) who is currently an inmate at Fort Grant, serving a five year sentence for Aggravated Assault.

The letter contained two photographs of Javier Madrid, AKA Jimmy Madrid, the common law husband of Louise Madrid. In addition to the photographs, the letter makes several references to information that identified Javier Madrid and where he could be found.  The letter also makes several references that indicate a deal or agreement had or has been made to have Javier Madrid murdered this week or as soon as it can be accomplished. Madrid also completed many overt acts which led Police to believe her husband’s life was in danger.

Louise Ann Madrid was booked into Madison Street Jail last night on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the First Degree, Premeditated. She is being held on bond. The Peoria Police Department is still investigating and believes at least one co-conspirator is still at large.
