ADC joins anti-violence project

State agencies join Governor’s team to fight domestic violence

In observance of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, Arizona Department of Corrections is joining with other state agencies in supporting Governor Napolitano’s Arizona's State Agency Coordination Team, also known as SACT.

SACT was created by the Governor’s office to bring together state agencies that fund services for victims of domestic and/or sexual violence. In addition to sharing information, leveraging resources and working collaboratively, SACT is committed to promoting activities that address violence against women through prevention and education.

To that end, SACT is proposing an awareness project for state employees, which will encourage state employees to complete anonymous Domestic Violence Awareness Pledge Cards during the month of October. The Pledge Card Project gives state employees an opportunity to personally commit to ending domestic violence and supports state agency domestic violence workplace policies.
