ADC Staff Members Receive
ACA Certification
Twenty-three ADC employees recently graduated from the
American Correctional Association's (ACA) Correctional Certification Program.
The program is designed to advance the overall knowledge level of practitioners
in the corrections field, promote the capabilities of corrections professionals
to the public, and enhance society's image of corrections personnel and,
thereby, aid in the recruitment of new, talented staff members. All
graduates must pass a certification exam.

There are four different certification programs, executive,
manager, supervisor and officer levels.
ADC had two passing employees at the executive level, six at the manager level,
four supervisors, and 11 officers.
"The ACA
Certification Program is recognized nationally by corrections professionals,"
Staff Development and Training Administrator John Hallahan said. "ADC is proud
of the recent recipients of the ACA Certification and Director Schriro has
recently approved revised D.O. 509 that allows for staff to use tuition
assistance to fund the certification program. More information on ACA
Certification can be found on the
Training
Intranet site."
The graduation certificates were presented at a ceremony at
COTA on January 18, 2006.
