ADC Dogs Shine in Scottsdale

Arizona Department of Corrections dogs and handlers from the agency's northern region placed sixth overall at the 2005 Desert Dog Police K-9 Trials.  Sixty-five law enforcement teams, predominately from the Southwest, participated in the competition. The trials were held on April 16 and 17 at Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, AZ.

The canine teams were judged in such areas as building searches, agility, tactical obedience, handler protection and narcotic and explosive detection.

ADC Top Finishers

Narcotics detection - 2nd place: David Wymore & Rex - ASPC-Perryville
Top agency detection - 4th place: ADC (South); 6th place ADC (North)
Tactical agility - 5th place: Suzette Whitaker & Paul - ASPC-Lewis
Handler protection - 5th place: Elizabeth Payne & Diesel - ASPC-Phoenix
