ADC Tops All State Agencies

Accepting the SECC award on behalf of ADC was Deputy Director Gary Phelps, Internal Communications Coordinator Virginia Strankman, ASPC-Perryville Executive Assistant Cindy Neese and Program Services Division Director Steven Ickes

Arizona Department of Corrections employees joined together at the annual State Employees Charitable Campaign (SECC) Celebration Luncheon to celebrate the success of the 2004 fundraising drive.  As a result of their combined efforts, the department raised more than $471,000 in pledges that will help fund 600 health and human services agencies, which often provide assistance to other state employees, their family and friends.

At the celebration event, the Department was recognized with an award for excellence for exceeding their “Supergiver” fundraising goal, (a “Supergiver” is someone who gives one hour a pay per pay period).  The ADC had a total of 123 "Supergivers" last year – exceeding the previous year’s number of "Supergivers" by 20 percent.

The SECC is one of the most effectively run charitable campaigns in the country with a history of providing millions of dollars to organizations who help the young and the old, the sick and homeless and those who need a helping hand.

Give a hand, touch a heart….together we win!
