Rose Garden Dedicated to Victims

Arizona Department of Corrections Director Dora Schriro and Attorney General Terry Goddard participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate a rose garden for victims of crime. The rose garden is located in front of the Arizona Attorney General's Office at 1275 W. Washington Street in Phoenix.

Deputy Warden Lance Hetmer of ASPC-Safford worked with inmates to create a flagstone marker for the rose garden. Physical Plant Supervisor Jim Cummings of Central Office and an inmate from Phoenix set the marker in cement.

Inmates working in the community and being accountable to the people they victimized is part of Director Schriro's restorative justice initiative.
