ADC EMPLOYEES WASH CARS TO SUPPORT OFFICER DAVID URIBE

Arizona Department of Corrections employees will raise funds to assist the family of fellow law enforcement Officer David Uribe.  Officer Uribe was killed in the line of duty while on patrol for the Phoenix Police Department on Tuesday, May 10.

State correctional officers and department staff will gather on Sunday, May 22 at Paradise Car Wash, 43rd Avenue south of Bell Road, and Typhoon Car Wash, 43rd Avenue south of Northern Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to wash cars to benefit the family of Officer Uribe.

Owners of the two car washes have agreed to donate 100 percent of the day’s proceeds from the automatic car washes to a survivor’s account processed through the 100 Club, an organization that provides immediate financial support to public safety officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.

As part of the law enforcement community, Arizona Department of Corrections Correctional Officers work under difficult and sometimes, dangerous circumstances.  When tragedy strikes, the 100 Club is an agency ADC officers can depend on for financial support.

During the past two years, through the State Employees Charitable Campaign, the 100 Club received nearly $190,000 in contributions from the Department’s corrections employees.
