ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
Inmate Library Services

Library Programs - Donations

Outside the prison environment, people are free to seek information and reading materials from a variety of sources. By virtue of their incarceration, however, ADC inmates primary access to information and reading materials is the prison library. While there is no legal mandate to provide general library services, most correctional administrators recognize the importance of, and the need for, such library services in correctional institutions. Each ADC facility, therefore, has some type of library for inmate use.

DONATIONS TO ADC INMATE LIBRARIES

If anyone would like to donate materials to the ADC inmate libraries, they may do so. Donations to ADC inmate libraries can be considered as a charitable contribution for tax purposes. However, donated materials are accepted by ADC with the understanding that they will be added to the inmate library collection using the same criteria and processes as materials that are purchased.
Materials which meet the
mission of the inmate libraries are preferred.
