STAFF TRAINING INFORMATION:

 

New Career Development Programs:

Pre-promotional Program – this program was developed to assist staff in preparing for their advancement with ADC. The program offers staff a variety of options in self-paced training; seminars and professional development classes which help them prepare for the next step in their careers. There are three phases to the program which allows staff members who are currently in supervisory positions to not only improve on the skills they have but to add to those skills.

 

In conjunction with the Pre-promotional Program, the Career Pathways was also developed to assist staff with their long term career goals. The Career Pathways provides staff with a list of knowledge, skills, abilities and education requirements that is necessary for each position within ADC. The Career Pathways started with our Correctional Series and Physical Plant staff. We are working towards developing these same guidelines for all positions within ADC. 

 

Majors and Captains Summits - The Majors and Captains summits were designed to bring the Majors and Captains from each institution together and provide team building exercises and offer them a forum to discuss issues and ideas with each other to help improve their skills as supervisors. Summits for other areas of responsibility are currently under development.
