Health Education ProgramIn 1995 the Arizona Department of Corrections initiated a Health Education program specializing in development of educational materials designed to address special educational needs of inmates. That program has evolved into the current Health Services Staff Development and Inmate Health and Wellness Life Skills Education Program.The current program collaborates through partnerships with community organizations, universities, and community colleges. Health Services’ educators are responsible for the design, development, and implementation, coordination and evaluation of health education curriculums and materials. Additional responsibilities include planning and coordination of professional training, seminars, and educational resources available to clinical and correctional staff, as well as, exploring grant opportunities and implementing awarded grant programs. return to health services |
