‘Howler’ and ‘Big Red’ visit ASPC-Florence

FLORENCE, Ariz. - Two Arizona sports mascots visited the Arizona State Prison Complex-Florence today for a fundraising event in support of the 100 Club, a charity that provides financial assistance to families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line-of-duty.

Howler, the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team mascot, and ‘Big Red’, the Arizona Cardinals football team mascot, attended a barbecue with ASPC-Florence employees.  The event was held at the ‘Warden’s House’.  This event helped raise almost $500 for the 100 Club of Arizona.

The event helped ‘kick-off’ the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), an annual fundraising effort, which raises money for hundreds of charitable organizations helping state employees, their families and one out of three Arizonans.

Last year, Arizona Department of Corrections raised more than $512,000 for the SECC.  For more information about the SECC and the 100 Club visit:
