Inmates Present Check Over $35,000 To Arizona Children
Glendale, Ariz. – Inmates from ASPC-Perryville will present more than $35 thousand to the West Valley Child Crisis Center. Almost half of the women at the female prison donated money in just one month, making this one of the largest fundraisers by an ADC prison.
The money raised goes directly to help the center purchase clothing, food and transportation, along with other needs of the children being assisted by the shelter. The shelter has room for 48 children at a time, and cares for about 350 children each year. The children are placed with the center because of extreme abuse or inability by the parents to care for them. The cost for the center to care for one child is $186 a day.
