ADC victims’ advocates receive Distinguished Service Awards

During the 25th annual Victims’ Rights Week Celebration, two victims’ advocates with the Arizona Department of Corrections received top awards for their service and commitment to crime victims.

ADC Victims’ Services Administrator Dan Levey received the 2009 Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award for Public Policy and  TCU Victim Services Manager Lydia Johnson, received Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award for Advocacy and Direct Service. Johnson serves as the victim notification manager and keeps victims aware of news concerning inmates.  Levey and Johnson received their awards Wednesday, April 29 from Attorney General Terry Goddard.

“I have seen Dan and Lydia’s dedication to assisting crime victims first-hand and I am proud of the work they do,” ADC Director Charles Ryan said. “Assisting victims is one of my top priorities and Dan and Lydia show great care when doing their jobs.”
