ADC Service Dogs are Holiday Heroes with Gambo and Ash from Sports 620 KTAR

Radio personalities Gambo and Ash from Sports 620 KTAR sponsored their annual Holiday Heroes event to benefit the 100 Club of Arizona. The daylong fundraiser was held on Dec. 17 at Scottsdale Lanes Bowling Alley in Scottsdale.

Lending their support at the event was a team of Arizona Department of Corrections service dogs and their handlers. According to Public Relations Specialist Rachel St. Moritz of the 100 Club the ADC canines were a “big hit” and a “real crowd favorite.” This year’s fundraiser garnered $233,000 for the 100 Club.

Earlier this year, the 100 Club of Arizona awarded the Arizona Department of Corrections Service Dog program $42,000 through their Safety Enhancement Stipend (SES) program to acquire some much needed equipment. The 100 Club awards benefits to security staff who have been killed or seriously injured while on duty. They also provide Safety Enhancement Stipends for equipment, training and programs enhancing the safety of Arizona firefighters, public safety officers and correctional officers.
