This year, Public Service Recognition Week was celebrated May 3-9, with May 5th being designated as State Employee Recognition Day.  All these events were an excellent opportunity to spotlight the contributions that Arizona Department of Corrections employees make in the workplace and in our communities and to thank our team of corrections professionals for the effective and resourceful work they provide to the State.  Around the state, the Arizona Department of Corrections honored its employees with various events held at all of its 10 prison complexes. 

Central Office staff was invited to a Cinco de Mayo themed Appreciation Day on Wednesday, May 5 in the courtyard area between 1601 W. Jefferson and 1645 W. Jefferson in Phoenix.  The event included a complimentary lunch paid for by administrators and executive staff. There was music, a salsa contest and an array of door prizes. 
 

The event was a tremendous success and thanks go out to the creative and talented Employee Appreciation Day Committee, including Virginia Strankman, Mary Agersea, Jeanne Dodd, Coral Martinez, Christine Sosa and Heather Milstead.
