Veteran's Day Float Donation

The Arizona State Credit Union (AZCU) has once again partnered with the Arizona Department of Corrections to help produce what is expected to be another award winning Veteran's Day Parade float. Since 2009, the AZCU has generously donated funds that are used in creating the float, which is constructed by inmates under the supervision of ADC staff and the Career Technical Education program at ASPC-Lewis/Barchey Unit.

On August 20, AZCU Relationship Manager Pattie Rowe and Branch Manager Lisa Day presented the Department with a check for $2,000 to cover the costs of materials needed to build the float. The Department of Corrections is greatly appreciative of the AZCU for their continued partnership and support.

The ADC has had a Veterans Day Float entered in the Phoenix Veteran's Hospital Annual Veteran's Day Parade since 2005 and with only one exception, the Department's entry has always earned a 1st place trophy.
