2009 Campaign is underway

The annual State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) held its kickoff luncheon recently at St. Mary's Basilica in downtown Phoenix. Each year, state employees join together to sponsor this charitable fund-raising effort, which gives back to the community. Arizona Department of Corrections employees have an excellent tradition of being responsive to and supportive of the community.

At this year's inaugural event, ADC Director Charles L. Ryan was one of the featured speakers, discussing how ADC employees have been sensitive to the needs of the community. The ASPC-Tucson Honor Guard presented colors at the beginning of the ceremony and Sgt. Katina Murphy sang the National Anthem.

According to SECC Agency Coordinator Virginia Strankman, ADC is putting particular focus on the act of giving, not the amount of the contribution.

The SECC will continue through the end of October with the Grand Prize Drawing of a car and cash prizes awarded January 2010.
