with a Lifesaver Award. |
Dedication and vigilance in the performance of her duties saved a
life at ASPC-Winslow earlier this month. Sergeant Hamilton was a
first responder to an inmate-on-inmate assault on the North
Recreation Field on November 8. Arriving moments after the initial
IMS, Sergeant Hamilton was flawless in her application of training
and time in service to provide basic first aid to the inmate until
medical staff arrived on scene. Remaining calm and keeping the
inmate calm, she expertly applied pressure to various wounds and
slowed down the loss of blood. Keeping the inmate alert and
conscious until medical staff arrived and providing medical
treatment, saved the inmate’s life. Sergeant Hamilton mastery of
core competency skills and basic security practices culminated in an
accurate and immediate assessment of the situation and contributed
to an exceptional positive outcome.
