ADC Health Care staff members Dr. Michael Adututu, Dr. Gale Steinhauser, and Robert Kappler, RN attended the Updates in Correctional Health Conference, which was held from April 8-11, 2006 in Las Vegas.

The conference was hosted by NCCHC and the Academy of Correctional Health Professionals.  Highlights included a seminar on Leadership Empowerment for Nurse Managers, and a workshop about Assessing and Managing Self Injurious Behaviors.

All three ADC staff members hold the prestigious Certified Correctional Health Professional certification, which is granted by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC).  Additionally, they are all board members of the Academy of Correctional Health Professionals, an organization which, through publications, educational activities and special events, connects correctional health professionals from across the country.

Dr. Adututu works for ADC as the Dental Program Administrator.  Dr. Steinhauser is a physician at ASPC-Florence, and Mr. Kappler is a member of the Health Care staff at ASPC-Douglas.
