PURCHASING COPIES OF THE ADC INMATE DATABASE

For a nominal fee, the Arizona Department of Corrections makes available on request copies of the inmate information contained on the ADC Website Inmate Datasearch.   The data is a public information extract of the entire ADC inmate database.  Please review the appropriate Arizona Revised Statute § 39-121.03. relating to the use of Public Records, particularly when they are being purchased for commercial purposes.

The file sent to you will be a self-extracting WinZip file. We do not provide floppy disk or printed hardcopy reports.

The extract files are in generic ASCII TEXT format, readable in any browser or word processor.  When unzipped the files are in excess of 100 megabytes of data.  The data files are accompanied by a README file to enable proper usage.

The file purchase DOES NOT include further updates; the data is current at time of shipment only.

A request for the database extract must be in writing on your agency or corporate letterhead stationery.  The letter must specify the following:

  • Method of receipt:

  • File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

    Specify the IP address and any firewall information necessary to transmit the information to you. ADC Information Technology will initiate the transfer. Outside access to ADC computer systems is not allowed.

    OR

    Computer CD.

    If this method of receiving the extract is requested, enclose a pre-paid, pre-addressed freight slip (FEDEX, UPS etc.) where you want the CD sent.

  • Include the phone number and name of an individual we can contact. The individual will be called when the extract is ready for shipment or transmission.

  •         The letter must be signed.
     
  • Enclose a check for $190.00 written to The State of Arizona. (Mandated by Department policy). The fee will be waived if you are a Law Enforcement Agency, Court or Legislature. Private corporations, partnerships, legal firms and other government agencies are not exempt.

  • Address the letter to:

    Find enclosed a check for $190.00 to cover the cost of obtaining a public information extract of the Inmates incarcerated in the Arizona state prison system.  I have reviewed and understand Arizona Revised Statute § 39-121.03. relating to the use of Public Records.

    Please FTP the information to me at 111.22.333.444. The firewall password is inmate download.

    Please contact Mrs. Doe at (000) 555-0000 ext. 111 when the extract is ready or questions arise.
