Inmate Data Extract

The inmate data extract contains information on inmates who have been or are incarcerated in the Arizona State Corrections System. The computerization of inmate data was first enacted in 1985. While there is some inmate information prior to that time, it may not be as complete as the later data. The information contained in this extract is a “point in time” extract of the information that is found on the Arizona Department of Corrections Inmate Web and can be found at http://www.azcorrections.gov.

The full set of information is contained in several data sets. Each data set is a TAB delimited and the first record in each data set contains the field names in the order that they were extracted to the data set. Some information is still represented as a code and is explained below.

The files have been compressed using WinZip.

The following information on codes and sub codes used in many of the data sets, describes the interpretation that should be given to the various inmate classification scores.
